At the end of September at The Ridge we challenged those who had never tithed as well as those who were committed tithers, to consider a challenge from God’s Word. In Malachi 3:10, we hear these words:

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.”

Few things are deeper in our relationship with God and show our love and gratitude to Him, than giving our financial resources away! In times like we find ourselves in today where financially it seems ridiculous to give money away, God says, “Test Me.” When we are having trouble making ends meet, God says, “Test Me.” When all common sense says that I should hang on to what’s mine, God says, “Whose is all that? Test Me.” Some say they can’t afford to tithe. We believe that you can’t afford not to.

If you are reading this, you have likely made that commitment or are curious about those who did. Over 6o families and individuals chose to take the 90-Day Challenge @ The Ridge. We are so pumped because we know that God will fulfill his promise to provide for your NEEDS. We really believe that God will do what He says He will do, when He says He is going to do it. Remember this is what the guarantee says:

My Part: By God’s grace I will contribute the first 10% of my income for the next 90 days to God through The Church @ The Ridge.

God’s Part: To bless me according to Malachi 3:10. *

*Remember the blessing is being able to place ourselves in the presence of God, depending on Him to meet our spiritual, physical, and emotional needs.

Church @ The Ridge’s part: If at the end of 90 days (not beyond that nor before that) God has not provide for my needs (not my wants!), Church @ The Ridge will refund to me all that has been contributed during that period of time.

I can’t wait to hear the stories of what God does in and through your life. Just remember that your giving has a reason behind it! We give not only because God expects us to, but because it blesses the lives of others and allows us to invest in expanding God’s Kingdom. There are literally hundreds of families that will be blessed and find a relationship with Jesus Christ because you have decided to give your financial resources! How awesome is that?! Thanks for being a part of the team.

Use this blog to share your stories. Click on the comments tab at the top to read other’s comments and to share your struggles, joys, victories, encouragement for others, prayers, scripture, anything that is on your heart. We are in this together. What is around the bend? Only God knows…so I’ll trust Him and just follow His lead. He’s the only thing that may make sense and since He promised to handle things and meet our needs, why not take Him at His word? He has yet to fail!
